*******BOTTLES UPDATE************

In light of the number of COVID cases reported in recent days, the Board has decided to scale back Bottles celebrations this Sunday. There’ll still be graduations for our first two Bronze groups. There’ll still be great food and drinks from 5pm in the Blue Room. There’ll still be music and dancing afterwards. But Surf Club Santa’s appearance and carols in the Hall will no longer go ahead.

The Blue Room, balcony and deck will all be open for those wishing to attend. Make sure you have your proof of vaccination (the Blue Room will be checking) and stay away if you’ve been pinged as a contact or if you have any symptoms,

We want everyone to enjoy a happy, healthy and safe Christmas and to ensure we are able to protect those who’ll be spending time at our beach over the busy holiday period.

Well done all with a busy day

Well done all with a busy day today!

Days like today make you very proud of every section of our great club.

So good to see all the Nipper crews having a great day with a special guest visiting, and a busy BBQ

Big kudos to Educations trainers and assessors completing the Bronze and SRC courses for a record number of candidates, who will join patrols in time for summer holidays.

Meanwhile the lifesaving patrol was treating a dislocated shoulder and keeping an eye on the growing crowd of a hot day, while IRBs and boards provided water safety.

Marketing have a large boxing activation this morning and will have Bottles and Bronze Graduation this evening.

While all this activity was buzzing, we had Dave Sharma MP visiting to see the ski, IRB and new motor funded from federal grants, along with funding support from a donation from John Rantzen and sponsorship from Adam D’Angelo’s

Christmas Bottles and Bronze G

Christmas Bottles and Bronze Graduation

Tonight’s Bottles (19 Dec) is the final one of the year and it’s going to be huge!

Almost 80 new lifesavers are graduating and joining our patrols for the busy holiday season. BM1 and BM2 have completed their eight-week training course, the one-week Lightning Course completed their course this week and a large group of SRCs completed theirs last Tuesday. Come along to Bottles, introduce yourselves and welcome them to the fold.

With Christmas only days away, there’s also a caroller coming to sing acapella for us in the Main Hall along with our special Surf Club Santa on his throne so you can make your Christmas wishes and take that holiday snap. The action kicks off at 5:30pm with treats for the kids, and pizza and music from 6:30pm.

Upstairs, the Blue Room is open from 5:00pm. Given that summer has finally arrived this week, we’ll

Joining the surf club is more

Joining the surf club is more than just patrol hours and training. It is an opportunity to connect with like-minded people and form life-long bonds. If you choose to, you can be a member for life!

Last Friday at a Veteran’s Day lunch we celebrated our members past and present who have helped form our club and the lifesaving movement. We paid our respects to those no longer with us and we acknowledged the incredible achievements of the men and women in the room.

Dave Sharma joined Brent Jackson and Cyril Baldock in presenting awards for 25, 40, 50, 55, 60 and 70 years of service, as well as 15 years’ National Patrol Service Medals. An amazing achievement from all!

Thank you all for your dedication, hard work and service.
